Recently, there has been an uproar on the gruesome pictures and video of a women in Hangzhou, China, crushing a kitten to death with her stiletto heels. These pictures and video first appeared on a website followed by appearing in many newspapers. The woman first caresses a kitten lovingly followed by putting it on the ground and crushing it to death with her heels.

Many viewers were shock and outraged by this act of animal abuse. Strangely, it becomes a "new trend" in the chinese media as many similar cases of such animal abuse are appearing on the internet. 

In my opinion, I think that such abuse cases should be looked upon and server punishment should be given to those who carried out the abuse. This is to prevent/reduce future arising cases and make sure that people think twice before acting. It is obvious that in this case of crushing of kitten, it is mainly for entertainment purposes. 

Why would anyone want to harm or kill a kitten on purpose? I personally do not think that there is any possible reason for this act and it is unfair that the abusers are unpunished. These animals have a life, they have a family and they have feelings. People should be aware of it and treat animals with respect.
